Obituary

Andrews: Don Keith Bannister, 64, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree. Mr. Bannister was born in Charleston on June 22, 1948, a son of James Watson Bannister and the late Lucille Charlotte Dillonkoffer Bannister. He grew up in Charleston and retired from Georgetown Steel Corp. after over thirty years of employment. Mr. Bannister was active with the Boy Scouts for many years. He enjoyed projects for his home and was happiest when he was with his children, family, and church. Surviving are: his wife, Eileen Overton Bannister of Andrews; a son, Thomas Bannister (Hope) of Myrtle Beach; four daughters, Anne Melson (Nicholas) of South Bend, Ind., and Laura Bannister, Katherine Bannister, and Elizabeth Bannister, all of Columbia; his father of Charleston; a sister, Cindy Hill (Tom) of Charleston; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock of Friday afternoon, June 21, 2013, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be Travis Hughey. Burial will be private.
