Andrews:
Don Walter Cumbie, 55, died Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown.
Mr. Cumbie was born in Andrews on March 7, 1956, a son of the late Dan "Toby" Cumbie and Elsie Elizabeth Taylor Cumbie. He lived all his life in the Andrews area. Mr. Cumbie was a self-employed carpenter and handyman. He loved sports and fishing and was a former youth baseball coach. Mr. Cumbie was a member of Piney Forest Baptist Church.
Surviving are: his wife, Bessie Taylor Cumbie of Andrews; two sons, Dan Benjamin Cumbie and Don Dusty Cumbie, both of Andrews; a brother, Mike Cumbie (Marie) of New Zion; three sisters, Tammy Moore (John S.) and Terri Hanna (Allen), both of Andrews, and Angela Grant of Greelyville; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Memorial services will be at five o'clock on Sunday afternoon, February 12, 2012, at Piney Forest Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Craig Stevenson.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from two until four o'clock.
