Andrews: Donald Eugene Cooper, 83, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Cooper was born in Andrews on December 8, 1931, a son of the late Robert Peter Cooper, Sr. and Nettie Knight Cooper. He grew up in the Sutton's community of Andrews, graduated from Carlisle Military Academy, and attended Clemson University. Mr. Cooper served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and later went to Forest Ranger School in Lake City, Fla. He was a member of Suttons United Methodist Church. Surviving are: his wife, Edith Ray Cooper of Andrews; a son, Donald E. "Dee" Cooper Jr. of Suttons; a daughter, Donna C. Elliott (Vince) of Kingstree; six grandchildren, Courtney Ganes (Quinton), Nathan Elliott, and Alyssa Elliott, all of Kingstree, and Donald E. "Tripp" Cooper, III, Mary Kate Cooper, and Cassie Cooper, all of Georgetown; a great-granddaughter, Cooper Ganes of Kingstree; two sisters-in-law, Carol Cooper of Pawleys Island and Clara Cooper of Suttons; several nieces and nephews; and two special cousins, Sollie E. "S.E." Cooper, Jr. and Dr. Troy Gamble. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cooper was predeceased by: two brothers, Charles Franklin Cooper and Robert Peter Cooper, Jr. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock on Friday afternoon, March 20, 2015, at Suttons United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Arthur Vick, Jr. Burial will follow in the Churchyard.
