Georgetown:
Donald Leon Kann, 77, died Monday, January 3, 2011, at his residence.
Mr. Kann was born in Sheppton, Pa. on July 16, 1933, a son of the late Bernard Lloyd Kann and Nellie Briggs Kann. He moved to Greenville as a young man and attended college there. Mr. Kann served in the Army in the Korean Conflict and was a drill sergeant at Fort Jackson. He later served in the Air Force for ten years. Mr. Kann was a retired employee of Albright & Wilson Americas, Inc.'s chemical plant in Charleston. He lived in Georgetown for many years and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Kann was predeceased by: his wife, Joanna Smith Kann.
Surviving are: two daughters, Patricia K. Hewitt of Georgetown and Deborha Sellers of Bolivia, N. C.; a son, Alan Kann of Columbia; a step-daughter, Teresa Lough of Axis, Ala.; a step-son, Mike Causey of Columbia; a brother, Robert O. Kann of Wadmalaw Island; a sister, Audrey June K. Ross of Charleston; twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
