Georgetown:
Donald Brennen Myers, born February. 27, 1937 in Norwood, OH. Don passed away on July 16, 2021 at the age of 84, at his home in Georgetown, SC.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, sister Ruth Lack and his four children, Terry Myers (Renee Balch), Tammy (John) Livingood, Kelly Merritt and Kathy Myers (Seth Warshaw) and his grandchildren Heather Murray (Jacob) and Brennen Merritt. He is preceded in death by parents Helen & Wilbur Myers, and siblings, Charlotte, John, Robert, James, Wilbur and William.
Don graduated in 1955 from Purcell High School in Cincinnati, OH and served in the US Army. Don also graduated with honors from the San Francisco Culinary Academy in 1992. He enjoyed his second career as a Chef and his retirement days appraising and refinishing antique
furniture.
Don touched many young lives as a baseball, basketball and softball coach. He was a passionate and loving coach for over 20 years. He coached ASA Girls Fast pitch Softball and took several teams to ASA Nationals. In 1981, he coached his daughters Senior League Softball team to a 3rd place finish in the Little League World Series.
He was also an avid sports fan. Don could be found rooting for many of his favorite teams, live at the game, via the radio or on television. He was a member of the San Francisco 49er Faithful, a San Francisco Giants fan, and a Golden State Warriors season ticket holder to name a few. His enthusiasm for his local teams was passed along to his entire family.
Don will be interned with Military Honors at the Beaufort National Cemetery on November 5, 2021 at 11AM in Beaufort, SC. Celebration of Life luncheon to follow the memorial service.
