Georgetown: Donald Gregor "Greg" Purple, Jr., died Thurday, March 5, 2015, near his residence at Belle Isle. Mr. Purple was born in Elmira, N.Y. on April 12, 1963, a son of Shirley Kretschmann Purple and the late Judge Donald Gregor Purple. He grew up in Corning N.Y, was a graduate of East High School, and attended Corning Community College. Mr. Purple served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for a time with the Steuben County, N.Y. Sheriff's Dept. as a bailiff. Mr. Purple was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Corning and the Elks Club in both Corning and Murrells Inlet, SC. Surviving in addition to his mother of Georgetown are: a brother, Collin Ivan Purple of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Beverly Purple of Roswell, Ga. and Courtney P.
