Rincon, Ga.: Donna Renee Main, 60, died peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2012, at her sister's residence. She had been disabled for many years with multiple sclerosis. Renee was born in Georgetown on November 30, 1951, a daughter of the late Alfred LeClair Main and Frances Strom Main. She graduated with the class of 1970 from Winyah High School. She attended Winthrop College and earned her baccalaureate and master degrees in education from the University of S.C. at Columbia. She taught history and art at Oak Grove Elementary School in Lexington and retired in 1985 due to her illness. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Georgetown. Surviving are: two sisters, Connie Coursey (Gary) of Rincon, Ga. and Wanda Hill (Freddie) of Georgetown; and two brothers, Tim Main (Debbie) of Upland, Calif. and Don Main of Fayetteville, N.C. She was a much loved aunt of four nieces, four nephews, four great-nieces, and two great-nephews. She was predeceased by her mother in 2000 and her father in 2011. Funeral services will be at two o'clock on Sunday afternoon, January 22, 2012, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Pastor Clifford Coursey. Burial will follow at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home from one until two o'clock.
