Pawleys Island: Doris Nebel Beal, 88, died August 24, 2010, at her residence in Litchfield Plantation. Mrs. Beal was born on January 24, 1922 in Apex, N.C., a daughter of the late William Nebel and Marion Phillips Nebel. She attended Salem College and was a lifetime summer resident of Blowing Rock, N.C. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Harold Francis Beal. Surviving are: two daughters, Pamela B. Winter and Deborah B. Thomas, both of Georgetown, S.C.; a son, Harold F. Beal of Rockford, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandsons. A family graveside service will be held in Charlotte, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to: Tidelands Community Hospice, 2591 N.
