Andrews:
Doris Ellen Moore Wheeler, 99, Widow of the Richard Olin Wheeler, died Saturday, July 14, 2018, at McLeod's Hospice House in Florence.
Mrs. Wheeler was born in Andrews on August 29, 1918, a daughter of the late Willis James Moore and Alma Ernestean Swails Moore. She lived most of her life in the Earle Community of Williamsburg County. Mrs. Wheeler worked for Oneita Knitting Mills until retirement. She was a member of Spring Gulley Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. Mrs. Wheeler lead the Bible Study for the WMU for many years, also did Outreach Ministry in the community.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wheeler was predeceased by: two daughters, Betty W. Taylor and Joy W. Lambert, and one grand-son, Murray "Ray" Taylor III: a great-grandson; Richard Taylor; a grandson-in-law, Tony Pope, and a grand-daughter-in-law, Pam W. Taylor.
Survivors are: two daughters, Jo Ann W. Blakely (Beverly) of Hanahan; and Mary W. Abrams (Dick) of Andrews; ten grand-children, Richard Taylor (Tara), Sissy Taylor (Brian), Mike Taylor (Tammy), Tony Taylor (Sandy), Dana Taylor (Wendy), Timothy Blakely, Jamey Abrams (YeVonne), Beth Pace (Johnathan), Melissa Newton (Ricky) and Mandy Richburg (Bryan); twenty four great-grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; and two son-in-law's, Murray Taylor and James Lambert.
Funeral Services will be at two o'clock Monday, July 16, 2018, at Spring Gulley Baptist Church, Officiating will be the Rev. Tommy Barnhill. Burial will follow in the churchyard.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 16, 2018, prior to the service on Monday in the church sanctuary, from one until two o'clock.
