Obituary

Andrews: Dosson Cantley Strong passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2008 Mrs. Strong was born in Williamsburg County on October 24, 1921, a daughter of the late Ravenel and Edith Cantley. She was the retired owner-operator of Strong's Grocery in the Warsaw community of Williamsburg Co. Mrs. Strong attended Spring Gulley Baptist Church. She was a loving and caring person who had a desire to take care of everyone and put the needs of others first. Funeral services will be three o'clock Monday afternoon, March 31, 2008, at Spring Gulley Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Randy Zurcher and the Rev. Zach Farmer. Burial will follow in Tisdale Cemetery She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Strong, her brothers, R. D. Cantley, Lynn Cantley, and Richard Williams; a sister, Barbara Byrdic, step-sons, Willie Strong, James Strong, and Melton Strong; and step-mother, Minnie Cantley. She leaves behind: two sons, Ernie Strong of Andrews, Donnie Strong and his wife Amy of Pawleys Island; three daughters, Rachel Poole and her husband Lester of Sumter, Irene McCants and her husband Curt of Andrews, and Robin Munnerlyn and her husband Eddie of Georgetown; a step-daughter, Creola Foster of Andrews, a step-son, Bobby Strong and his wife Violet of Andrews; three sisters, Lee Farmer and her husband Zach of Orangeburg, Nell Blakely and her husband Bobby of Shelby, N. C., and Allison Simmons of Kingstree; two sisters-in-law, Ann Cantley of Kingstree and Carolyn Cantley of Andrews; extended family, Rachel Moree, Camellia Mooring, and Rodney Cannon; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who always remember her as "Mema" Sign a guest book at www.mayerfuneralhome.com.
