Georgetown:
Dr. George E. Tiller, 79, died on December 16, 2008 after a long illness. He was the widower of Dorine C. Tiller
Dr. Tiller was born in Fort Pierce, Fla., son of the late Ralph E. Tiller and Eleanor R. Tiller. After graduating from high school, he entered the U. S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Southern Illinois University and the University of Kansas City Dental School. Dr. Tiller practiced dentistry in Georgetown from 1958 until his retirement in 1994. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening throughout his life.
Dr. Tiller was a member of the S. C. Dental Association, Winyah Indigo Society, Georgetown Cotillion Club, and Georgetown Rotary Club, of which he was a past president.
Dr. Tiller was a communicant of Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church, where he served as a vestryman and senior warden.
Dr. Tiller is survived by: his son, John H. Tiller and his wife Dana of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Wilma T. Hearn of Centerville, Iowa and Sallie T. Driscoll of Harpers Ferry, Iowa. He was predeceased by a son, George Edwin Tiller, Jr.
Funeral services will be two o'clock Friday afternoon, December 19, 2008, at Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in the Churchyard.
