Columbia: Edith Bourne Blizzard, 83, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005 in Columbia. Mrs. Blizzard was born November 10, 1921 in Hartsville, S. C. She graduated from Winthrop College and Bowman Gray School of Technology. She was a laboratory technician at the Georgetown County Memorial Hospital, taught at Winyah High School, and started Georgetown Travel Agency, which she owned and operated for ten years. She was an active member of Prince George church. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Davis Bourne, and her second husband, Alpheus Wesley Blizzard. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 26, 2005, at 11:00 AM at Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church in Georgetown. Burial will follow in the Churchyard. Mrs. Blizzard is survived by: a son, William Davis Bourne, Jr.; a daughter, Julian Bourne Horst; a granddaughter, Eleanor Lemmon Bourne; and three grandsons, William Davis Bourne III, Benjamin Allen Horst, and William Fischer Horst. The family will receive friends at the church parish hall immediately following the committal service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church, P. O. Box 674, Georgetown, S. C. 29442.
