Edith Rose

Edith Michau Rose, age 76, of Georgetown, SC, died on August 26, 2026 at her home in Newberry SC. Born September 19, 1949, in Georgetown, SC, she was the daughter of William Watson Michau and Corrie Mae Walker (Jones). 

She was preceded in death by parents, William Michau and Corrie Mae Walker; her husband Benny Rose; and siblings, Bonnie Jacobs and Wayne Michau. 

Edith lived a full and extraordinary life. When she was young she traveled all over the place before settling back to her roots in Georgetown. She worked as one of the first female electricians at Georgetown's International Paper Mill while raising her two children. Her passions were her family and gardening. She would always say I don’t want a plant that will die in a vase. I want something that will grow every year. 

Edith is survived by two siblings, Roxanne Jordan and Raymond Michau; two children, Tina Monds (Debra) and George Rose (Gretchen); four grandchildren, Ashley Beach, Kristina Mau (Mason), Benny Rose, and Brittany Rose; six great-grandchildren, Alivia Beach, Kevin Beach, Hayden Wilkins, Lacey Grace Mau, Elizabeth May Mau, and Jack Rose; one great-granddaughter, Alayah Mulan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to the nurses and Pastor Chris Hix for providing support during this time. 

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held at the Maryville Chapel of Mayer- Ethridge Funeral Home, 2200 S. Fraser St., 843-546-4184. Visitation with family and friends will begin at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 30, with a service following at 3:00 PM. After the service, family and friends are invited to Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens for entombment in the mausoleum.
