Murrells Inlet: Edward Charles Watson, 61, died Sunday, October 23, 2011, at his residence. Mr. Watson was born on February 1, 1950 in Marion, a son of the late Edward Garland Watson and Peggy Lassiter Watson. He grew up in Marion and later moved to Andrews, where he graduated from Andrews High School. Mr. Watson was also a graduate of Francis Marion University and worked for Miller Brewing Co. in Albany, Ga. He returned to the beach area over 20 years ago. Surviving are: his wife, Gloria McConnell Watson of Murrells Inlet; a daughter, Leslie Watson McCants (Michael) of Andrews; a grandson, Peyton E. McCants of Andrews; a brother-in-law, Kenny McConnell (Debbie) of Georgetown; his mother-in-law, Virginia F. McConnell of Andrews; and a nephew, Jim Cline (Tammy) of Murrells Inlet. Memorial services will be at two o'clock on Thursday afternoon, October 27, 2011, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. David Marcy.
