Murrells Inlet: Edwin C. Braynard, Jr., 88, died Wednesday, February 22, 2006, at Waccamaw Community Hospital. Mr. Braynard was born in Sea Cliff, N. Y. on October 18, 1917, a son of the late Dr. Edwin C. Braynard and Carrie Upham Braynard. He grew up in Glen Cove, Long Island, N. Y. After retirement from American Credit Indemnity, Mr. Braynard moved to Georgetown in 1976, where he was owner and operator of Belle Isle Marina in Georgetown for a number of years. Mr. Braynard moved to Murrells Inlet several years ago. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church at Pawleys Island. Mr. Braynard was also a member of Winyah Lodge 40, AFM and a past member of the Rotary Club of Georgetown and the Propeller Club. Surviving are: his wife, Lois Irene Braynard of Murrells Inlet; two sons, Bruce Braynard and his wife Brenda of Pawleys Island and Paul Braynard and his wife Patricia of Morganton, N. C.; two daughters, Amy Bunn and her husband Rob of Pawleys Island and Carrie Avant and her husband Shane of Murrells Inlet; and eight grandchildren.
