Georgetown: Edwin Walter "E. W." Brown, 83, husband of Joyce Ann Harrelson Brown, died Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at his residence. Mr. Brown was born in Kingstree, on June 16, 1935, a son of the late Burrell O'Neal Brown and Wilma Lee McCants Brown. He grew up in the Andrews area and graduated from Andrews High School. Mr. Brown serviced our county in the US Air Force and received an honorable discharge in 1961. E. W. and Joyce were married on March 29, 1968 for fifty years. He worked for the CSX Railroad for forty years until retirement. Mr. Brown was a member of the American Legion Post #114 and was Sergeant at Arms of the Post. He was also a member of Winyah Lodge # 40, Ancient Free Masons and First Baptist Church. He had a great love for airplanes, trails and enjoyed being with people. Surviving are: his wife of Georgetown; a daughter, Melanie B. Foxwell (Jeff) of Georgetown; a brother, O'Neal Brown (Dawn) of Georgetown; two sisters, Lynn Brown of Andrews; and Anne B. Richerson (James "Rich") of Lexington; and two granddaughters, Jesse Foxwell of Rock Hill and Callie Foxwell of Georgetown. The Funeral Services will be at two o'clock Friday, July13, 2018, at the First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted A. Sherrill. The family will receive friends Friday, July13, 2018, prior to the service in the Church Parlor from one until two o'clock. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
