Georgetown: Edwin Lavalle "Sonny" Rogerson, Jr. 80, died Monday, March 23, 2020, at Grand Stand Regional Medical Center. Mr. Rogerson was born in Georgetown on August 15, 1939, a son of the late Edwin Lavalle Rogerson, Sr. and Viola Adell Cooper Rogerson. He grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Winyah High School. Mr. Rogerson was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. He enjoyed getting in his car and riding around town talking to everyone he met and making them laugh with his great sense of humor. The biggest joy of his life was spending time with his grands and great-grands. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rogerson was predeceased by: a daughter, Margaret "Marcy" Potterfield and a brother, Frances "Dale" Rogerson. Surviving are: two daughters, Angela Church of Garden City and Pamela Miller (Sam) of Georgetown; a sister, Cynthia Coursey of Charleston, a sister-in-law; Ann Rogerson of Georgetown; and eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
