Obituary

Andrews: Eleanor Parsons Moody, 92, died Sunday, May 7, 2006, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Moody was born in Andrews on June 10, 1913, a daughter of the late Herbert Samuel Parsons and Lulo Bacon Parsons. She grew up in Andrews and was a graduate of Andrews High School and Winthrop College. Mrs. Moody taught in the Andrews Schools for over thirty years. She was the widow of the late James Wilton Moody. Mrs. Moody was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was the church Historian. She also taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Anna-Hannah Circle of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Moody was a member of the Rosemary Garden Club and the Andrews Disc Club. Mrs. Moody was active in community affairs. She was a member of the Pawleys Island Civic Association and served on the Georgetown County Library Board for twenty-five years. Mrs. Moody was a charter member and officer of the Andrews "Good Old Days" festival board and the founder and principal benefactor of the Andrews Old Town Hall Museum. Surviving are: a son, James Wilton Moody, Jr. and his wife Rebecca Shuler Moody of Georgetown; a grandson, James Wilton Moody, III of Pawleys Island; a granddaughter, Sarah Ellen Moody of Pawleys Island; a niece, Alice Geer Mercer of Andrews; and a nephew, George Ralphbon Geer and his wife Elizabeth Brooks Geer of McClellanville. Funeral services will be one o'clock Tuesday afternoon, May 9, 2006, at Trinity United Methodist Church Family Life Center. Officiating will be the Rev. Sandra Stevens Poirel, the Rev. Phillip C. Thrailkill, and the Rev. Bruce Adams. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery. Sign a guest book at www.mayerfuneralhome.com.
