Andrews:
Eleanor Anne Sims Stamper, 88, widow of the Charles Woodson Stamper, Jr. passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022, at The Lakes at Litchfield with her loving family by her side.
Mrs. Stamper was born in Olanta, on May 15, 1933, a daughter of the late Albert Robert Taylor Sims and Katie Mae Hammond Sims.
Mrs. Stamper grew up in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School, and attended Furman University. She was a faithful member of Andrews First Baptist Church, served on many boards, the Pulpit committee, Financial Board, Nominating committee and most of all loved singing in the choir. Eleanor had many talents one of which was cooking; she was famous for her hot dog chili, fried chicken and her pound cakes. She had a great love for the Pawleys Island Beach, watching the birds and enjoyed her flowers. Woodson and Eleanor were happily married for fifty three years and had three wonderful children.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Stamper was predeceased by: a son Charles Woodson Stamper, III and a sister, Katherine Sims.
Surviving are: a son, Robert S. Stamper (Shea) and a daughter, Marie Stamper both of Andrews; two grandchildren, Rob Stamper (Lorie) of Andrews and Sarah S. Baker (Branden ) of Florence; three great-grandchildren, Woodson Joseph Stamper, Sarah Katherine Baker and Linley Elizabeth Stamper
Funeral Services will be three o'clock Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Andrews First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark Stump and the Rev. Dr. J. Kirk Lawton. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 prior to the service in the church parlor from two until three o'clock.
