Georgetown:
Elease Goude West, 89, died Friday, January 7, 2011, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. West was born in Plantersville on May 9, 1921, a daughter of the late Buey Gilbert Goude and Hariette Cynthia Cribb Goude. She lived in Georgetown County her entire life and was a graduate of Winyah High School and Winthrop University. Mrs. West was a former schoolteacher at Plantersville Community School. She also worked at Plantersville General Store and Post Office and Parson's Nursery. She was active in the family Christmas tree business and enjoyed working in her yard. Mrs. West was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. Mrs. West was the widow of Hutto Omega West, Sr.
Surviving are: three sons, Omega West (Frances), Jamie West (Marilyn) and the Rev. Ricky West (Julie), all of Georgetown; three sisters, Lillian Hucks (Carl), Sallie Avant (George) and Connie Jordan (Kenny), all of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Gilbert West (Mindy) of Mooresville, N.C., Kristen Guardado (John) of Conway, and Cindy Kennington (David), Richard West and Michelle West, all of Georgetown; five great-grandchildren, Justin and Jordan Kennington, Gavin West, Danielle West and Johnny Guardado; and numerous nieces and nephews from shore to shore.
Funeral services will be at two o'clock on Sunday afternoon, January 9, 2011, at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald Ward and the Rev. Ricky West. Burial will follow in the churchyard.

The family will receive friends on Saturday evening, January 8, 2011, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from five until seven o'clock.
