Georgetown:
Elizabeth Anne Redmond Kimbrough, 88, widow of Edward Shields Kimbrough, died Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Palmetto Health Baptist in Columbia.
Mrs. Kimbrough was born in Hattiesburg, Miss. on June 18, 1924, a daughter of the late John Lawrence Redmond and Carrie Hegwood Redmond. She moved to Pawleys Island before moving to Georgetown and graduating from Winyah High School. Mrs. Kimbrough was a communicant of St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Church, where she was a part-time church secretary for twenty years, a choir member, and active in both the Catholic Women's Society and the Altar Guild. She was a volunteer at Georgetown Memorial Hospital for fifteen years and an avid bridge player.
Surviving are: two sons, Edward S. Kimbrough, Jr. (Debbie) of Georgetown and William M. Kimbrough (Melissa) of Cypress, Tex.; two daughters, Donna K. Walker (Charles) of Brunswick, Ga. and Patricia K. Tanner (Sig) of Columbia; six grandchildren, Shannon T. Bozard, Ashley T. Foster, and Blair K. Salmon, all of Columbia, Butler E. Kimbrough and Caroline S. Kimbrough, both of Augusta, Ga., and Abigail J. Kimbrough of Cypress, Tex.; five great-grandchildren, Tanner, Taylor and Walker Bozard, Edward Salmon, and Hampton Foster; and three sisters, Carolyn R. Heider (Jim) of Charleston, Mary R. Harrington (Pat) of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Agnes R. Vogel of Leander, Tex.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Kimbrough was predeceased by: two brothers, John L. Redmond and Paul Redmond.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at one o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, January 30, 2013, at Saint Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald J. Farrell. Burial will follow at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends prior to the Mass on Wednesday at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from eleven until twelve-thirty.
