Obituary

Georgetown: Elizabeth Turner Rhodes, 102, died Monday, May 22, 2006, at Prince George Healthcare Center. Mrs. Rhodes was born in Morganton, N. C. on February 11, 1904, a daughter of the late Meedy W. Turner and Bessie Kibler Turner. She grew up in Morganton and attended Coker College in Hartsville. Mrs. Rhodes was a former bookkeeper at Belk Dept. Store and a librarian. She was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church and the widow of Ernest Cowan Rhodes. Surviving are: two nephews, Gillum M. King of Florence and Jack Turner of High Point, N. C.; two nieces, Rebecca Rairden of Raleigh, N. C. and Fay Aldrich of Alachua, Fla.; and a number of great-nephews and great-nieces. Funeral services will be ten o'clock Thursday morning, May 25, 2006, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Phillip C. Thraikill.
