Elizabeth Edmunds Wall

It is with the greatest of sorrow that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Edmunds Wall to the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the 7th day of September in the year of our Lord 2026.

Elizabeth was born in Sumter, SC on August 27, 1968. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, was a Certified Naturalist and was a leader of Operation Smile in Rabat, Morocco. She was a successful business owner of Wall Creations, working as a professional artist specializing in faux finishing techniques, and had a wonderful eye for design. By her hand, Elizabeth brought beauty into every place she went, everything she touched, every garden she planted, every house she painted, every person she met, and every family member she loved.

She was a selfless, loving wife and mother. She exemplified kindness and generosity with everyone she came in contact with. She loved the water, beach, and spending time on the boat fishing. She was a fabulous cook and tended a bountiful garden full of roses and flowers. Her kindness to animals was evident to all who knew her. She fed anything that came to her door including cats, dogs, raccoons, deer, birds, opossums, and alligators. Her kindness was the trademark of her personality and she will forever be present in our hearts.

She is survived by her parents, DeSaussure Davis (DD) Edmunds and Peggy Jackson Edmunds and a brother, DeSaussure Davis Edmunds, Jr. Elizabeth learned from, supported, honored, loved and cherished each of them.

She is also survived by her husband of 34 years, Major Brian Durham Wall, Sr (USAF Ret). She showed her everlasting love and commitment to him as a military wife. She tamed his ways, taught him to cherish all things, instructed him to better express his love and guided him closer to Christ.

Elizabeth was also an endearing and proud mother to her children, Caroline DeSaussure Leach and Captain Brian Durham “Jack” Wall, Jr. She raised them to be faithful, loyal, loving, and kind.

Caroline considered her mother her best friend and is her best self because of her mother. Elizabeth was there for Caroline through every step of her life and taught Caroline so much, from cooking and sewing to doing her hair and makeup. She provided guidance on everything, even things Caroline didn’t know she needed to know. They talked on the phone every day. Elizabeth gave Caroline her first Bible and circled all her favorite verses and led her to Christ. Her laugh was infectious, and she had a wicked sense of humor.

Caroline will miss asking for her mother’s opinion. She will miss their phone calls every day. She will miss her guidance, her laugh, her humor, and the warmth of her love. Every day will be a struggle without her, but Caroline will cherish her last memories of her.

Elizabeth supported Jack through his time at the Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, where he earned his commission as a Military Intelligence Officer in the United States Army. She supported him through US Army Ranger School through countless prayers and letters. She sent care packages across the world during Jack’s time in South Korea, sharing her love through packages filled with comfort items, ensuring he received a sense of home with every package he opened. She supported Jack’s relationship with his loving wife Molly, and beamed with light on their wedding day as Jack walked her down the aisle and during the Mother and Son dance. She will be forever loved and cherished by her children and in-laws.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday, September 12 in the Downtown Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home, 222 St. James St., Georgetown, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM, also in the chapel. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Hobcaw Barony and St. Francis Animal Center.
