Myrtle Beach:
Eloise Elizabeth Watts Godwin, 98, widow of J. K. Godwin, died Friday, November 14, 2014, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Godwin was born in Georgetown on October 14, 1916, a daughter of the late Everette Elias Watts and Carrie Elizabeth Oliver Watts. She grew up in Georgetown and attended Winyah High School. Mrs. Godwin was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church and the Susanna Wesley Church School Class. She enjoyed traveling with the church to the Holy Land and other wonderful places. Mrs. Godwin was a member of the Arthur Manigault Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Georgetown Garden Club.
Surviving are: a daughter, Charmine Ray of Myrtle Beach; two sisters, Virginia Watts Langston of Surfside Beach and Sara Watts Faulks of Columbia; and number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Godwin was predeceased by her husband, J. K. Godwin, a daughter, Stephanie Harrington, two sons, Bing Farris and Bethel Farris, a sister, Carrie Casey, and a brother, Everette Watts, Jr.
Funeral services will be three o'clock Sunday afternoon, November 16, 2014, at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Dora Gafford. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum. The family will receive friends prior to the service in the Mausoleum Chapel from two until three o'clock.
