Andrews:
Elsie Taylor Cumbie, 70, died Sunday, March 1, 2009, in Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Cumbie was born in Williamsburg Co. near Andrews on October 22, 1938, a daughter for the late Daniel Wesley Taylor and Melva Hanna Taylor. She lived all of her life in the Warsaw-Piney Forest communities of Williamsburg Co. Mrs. Cumbie was a former employee of Oneita Industries and Piggly Wiggly. She was a member of Piney Forest Baptist Church and the church choir. Mrs. Cumbie was the widow of Dan "Toby" Cumbie.
Surviving are: two sons, Donnie (Bessie) Cumbie of Andrews and Mike (Marie) Cumbie of New Zion; three daughters, Tammy (John) Moore, Terri (Allen) Hanna, and Angie (Cleon) Grant, all of Andrews; three brothers, David W. Taylor of Johnsonville, Darious W. Taylor of Rural Hall, N. C., and Dan W. Taylor of Andrews; three sisters, Jeanette T. Mixon of Andrews and Bunny T. McKenzie and Dorothy T. Watford, both of Kingstree; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Wednesday morning, March 4, 2009, at Piney Forest Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Ben Walker. Burial will follow in Ivey Cemetery.
