Andrews: Elva Richardson Baily, 95, widow of Arthur Lee Bailey, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at her residence. Mrs. Bailey was born in Aynor on September 3, 1917, a daughter of the late William Hampton Richardson and Leta King Richardson. She graduated from Aynor High School and attended Lander College and Appalachian State University. Mrs. Bailey taught in Horry County schools before moving to Andrews, where she was a dental assistant for 41 years. She worked for both Dr. S. E. Johnson and Dr. Charles Jones. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 70 years. She was a wonderful mother, faithful Christian, and loved her church. Surviving are: a son, William "Bill" Lee Bailey (Jackie) of Andrews; a daughter, Rose Rogers (Larry) of Andrews; three grandchildren, William Lee Bailey, Jr. (Linda) of Florence, Lesley Howard (Jimmy) and Stephen Rogers (Wendy), both of Andrews; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at five o'clock on Friday afternoon, September 21, 2012, at Trinity United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ben M. Gafford and the Rev. David Marcy. Burial will follow at Andrews Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, September 20, 2012, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home, from six until eight o'clock.
