Georgetown:
Emily Walshock Bunch Sweatman, 82, died Saturday, October 10, 2009, at Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Mrs. Sweatman was born in Sheppton, Pa. on October 11, 1926, a daughter of the late Stephan Andrew Walshock and Susan Potts Walshock. She was a graduate of Liberty High School and attended Bethlehem School of Business. Mrs. Sweatman moved to Charleston in 1944 and moved to Georgetown in 1956. She was employed at Sears in Georgetown from 1972 until 1982 and also at Georgetown Memorial Hospital for a time.
Mrs. Sweatman was a member of First Baptist Church, and the Platt Sunday School Class, the Young as Ever group, the Joy Singers, and the Brush Strokes art class at the church. She was a member of the Young at Heart group of Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Sweatman was a member of the Georgetown Business and Professional Women. She was a member and past Worthy Matron of Winyah Chapter #148, Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Sweatman was also a member of the Toastmasters Club, Civitan Club, and Navy Club, all of Georgetown. She served as a volunteer for Hospice and Georgetown Helping Hands.
Mrs. Sweatman was predeceased by: her husband, Archie Pinckney Sweatman; and her first husband, John Grant Bunch, Sr.
Surviving are: four sons, John Grant Bunch, Jr. of Shulerville, Matthew Thomas (Julie) Bunch of Monroe, N. C., Mark Steven (Anke) Bunch of Bowie, Md. and Andrew Luke Bunch of Rock Hill; a daughter Susanna Emily Bunch (John) Bullard of Ivanhoe, N. C.; four grandsons; and two granddaughters.
Funeral services will be two o'clock Monday afternoon, October 12, 2009 at First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted A. Sherrill. Inurnment will follow at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home Sunday evening, October 11, 2009, from five until seven.
