Andrews:
Ernest Henry Johanning III, 73, died Sunday, May 25, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Johanning was born in Kansas City, MO, on October 2, 1940, a son of the late Earnest Henry Johanning, II and Henrietta McIlvenny Moore. He grew up in Kansas City where he also graduated High School. He served in the US Navy and attained the rank of Petty Office First Class and served two tours in Vietnam. He was self-employed as a general handyman for over twenty years. He was well known in the Andrews area for his being able to fix anything.
Surviving are: his wife, Jimmie Faye McKenzie Johanning of Andrews, a son, Ernest H. Johanning (Rhonda) of Andrews; four grandchildren, Ethan Bauer Johanning, Rachel Lynn Johanning both of Andrews, Alexander David Johanning and Tyler Michael Johanning both of Decatur, IL; four sisters; Pamela Joy McFarland of Charleston, WV, Judith Heck, of Overland Park, KS, Holly Gail Hale of Gardner, KS and Harriet Gay DeBree of Deland, FL.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Johanning was predeceased by: a son, David Bauer Johanning.
Funeral services will be at the graveside at eleven o'clock on Wednesday morning, May 28, 2014, at Andrews Memorial Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ben Gafford.
The Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, May 27, 2014, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from six until eight o'clock.
