Georgetown:
E. Norwood Roberson, 74, died Thursday, April 22, 2004, at his residence.
Mr. Roberson was born in McClellanville on July 1, 1929, a son of the late Charles Wesley Roberson and Phenie Jacobs Roberson Turner. He grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Winyah High School. Mr. Roberson served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a rural mail carrier and retired from the U. S. Postal Service in 1984.
Mr. Roberson was an active member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. He served his church in a number of capacities including head usher, Commission on Worship member, and Administrative Board member. Mr. Roberson was formerly active in the Youth Recreation Department of Georgetown and a former Jaycee.
Surviving are: his wife, Betty Shuford Roberson of Georgetown; a son, Ernest N. "Woody" Roberson, Jr. and his wife Vickie of Summerville; two daughters, Kimberly Roberson of Columbia and Butler R. Mappus and her husband Dick of Charleston; and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Roberson was predeceased by a son, Charles Shuford Roberson.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Saturday morning, April 24, 2004, at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Phillip C. Thrailkill. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from six until eight Friday evening, April 23, 2004.
