Pawleys Island: Ernestine Ott Knippschild, 85, wife of William Knippschild, died Saturday, December 9, 2017, at the Medical University Hospital of South Carolina in Charleston. Mrs. Knippschild was born July 13, 1932, in Romania, a daughter of the late Adalbert Ott and Elisabeth Lichtfus Ott. Mrs. Knippschild grew up in Saint George, Romania and moved to the states in 1949. She was a member of Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Knippschild was loved by everyone who met her. She was involved with the handicapped and mentally retarded, and she also, championed better education for the retarded. In addition to her husband of Pawleys Island, Mrs. Knippschild is survived by: two sons, Robert Knippschild and William Knippschild both of Pawleys Island, a daughter, Clara Orlando (James) of Wilmington, DE; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be one-thirty o'clock Wednesday afternoon December 13, 2017 at Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Frank Holsclaw.
