Obituary

Georgetown, SC Ethel Tomlinson Tharp, 97, died Saturday, July 15, 2006, in Prince George Healthcare Center in Georgetown, SC. Mrs. Tharp was born in Century, FL on July 4th , 1909, daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Tomlinson and Mary Elizabeth Parker Tomlinson. She made her home for over 75 years in Macon, Georgia, where she and her family were members of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. Ethel was a member of the choir, frequently provided piano music for Sunday school classes, and was active in many missions of United Methodist Women. Mrs. Tharp was predeceased by her husband, Chonnie "Shine" Bonner Tharp, and a grandson, Tracy Tharp. Surviving are two sons, Charles "Sonny" Tharp and his wife, Jo, of Pawleys Island, SC and Thomas "Tom" Eason Tharp and his wife, Janet, of Daytona Beach, FL, four grandsons, and nine great-grandchildren. Greg Tharp of Gainesville, GA, and sons Jeff and Bryan; Marc Tharp and his wife, Dana, of Chapin, SC and daughters Kaelyn, Ashely, and Courtney; Bradley Tharp of New Port Richey, FL, and son, Chris; Jade Tharp and his wife, Mary, of Buford, GA, and children, Kalee, Bailey, and Bradey.
