Georgetown:
Eva Mae Cusack Wewers, 84, died Monday, January 3, 2011 at MUSC Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mrs. Wewers was born in Georgetown on February 10, 1926, a daughter of the late John Jacob Cusack and Eva Elizabeth Richardson Cusack. She lived all her life in Georgetown. Mrs. Wewers was a communicant of St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Women's Club for a number of years. She was the widow of Frederick John "Fritz" Wewers.
Surviving are: two sons, Frederick "Fritz" Wewers, Jr. of Anderson and Bernard Wewers of Waukegan, Ill.; four daughters, Peggy Jackson Medved, Mary Shoemaker, Cathy McGee and Teresa "Bunny" Nibert, all of Georgetown; two sisters, Dorothy Frey of Sumter and Lottie Jane Hill of Augusta, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be at eleven o'clock on Thursday morning, January 6, 2011, at St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald J. Farrell. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, January 5, 2011, from six until eight o'clock. A Wake service will be held during the visitation at six-thirty.
