Myrtle Beach: Evan Ernest Smith, 55, died Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown. Mr. Smith was born in Lynn, Mass. on March 7, 1953, a son of Claire Rheaume McLaughlin and the late William Joseph Smith. He grew up in Massachusetts and Georgetown and attended the Georgetown County Schools. Mr. Smith was a former employee of the Georgetown Times. Surviving are: his mother of Pepperell, Mass.; a son, Brian Smith of Anderson; three brothers, Wm. Randall Smith of Pepperell, Mass., Jeffrey A. Smith of Georgetown, and Arthur J. McLaughlin of Alton, N. H.; a sister, Leslie L. Nash of Andrews; a step-mother, Helen Smith of Georgetown; a step-brother, Stephen C. Psathas of Georgetown; and a step-sister, Cynthia Wilson of Lynn, Mass. A memorial service will be four o'clock Friday afternoon, October 17, 2008 at Calvary Original Free Will Baptist Church in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. Teddy Rabon and the Rev.
