Georgetown:
Evelyn Howard Taylor Cockfield, 82, died Monday, July 12, 2004, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Cockfield was born in Williamsburg County on October 2, 1921, a daughter of the late Liston Howard and Jessie Taylor Howard. She retired from Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Cockfield was a member of Screven Baptist Church. She was the widow of Hubert E. Taylor, Sr. and Colon K. Cockfield.
Survivors include: a daughter, Betty T. Gamble and her husband Billy of Andrews; a special sister-in-law, Florence H. Evans of Andrews; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three step-brothers; three step-sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cockfield was also predeceased by two sons, Hubert E. Taylor, Jr. and Bobby A. Taylor; a daughter, Rosa L. Taylor; seven brothers, Marvin, Theron, Monroe, Harvey, J. D., Lavern, and H. O. Howard.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning, July 14, 2004, at eleven o'clock at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Officiating will be the Rev. R. Wayne Ellis.
The family will receive friends at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Wednesday morning from ten until eleven o'clock before the service.
