Georgetown:
Fielden Lawrence Figgins, 86, died Wednesday, May 06, 2009, at Waccamaw Community Hospital.
Mr. Figgins was born in Manitoba, Canada, a son of the late Roscoe and Ruth F. Figgins. He grew up in Elgin, Ill. Mr. Figgins served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He moved to Georgetown after the War and retired from International Paper Company, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Mr. Figgins was an active member of the First Baptist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Surviving are: his wife, Loretta Cecelia Elliott Figgins of Georgetown; two daughters, Anne F. McCutchen and Linda F. Davis (Benjamin), both of Georgetown; a son, Mitchell Fielden (Kathie) Figgins of Summerville; two brothers, Paul Figgins of Elgin, Ill. and Oren Figgins of Owensboro, Kentucky; three sisters, Velma Ottinger and Rhetha Hebel, both of Elgin, Ill. and Lu Smith of West Point, Calif.; four grandchildren, Katherine Plowden, Scott McCutchen, Elizabeth Kostos, and Emily Michel; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 9, 2009, at two o'clock at the First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted A. Sherrill. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, May 8, 2009, from six until eight o'clock at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home and on Saturday afternoon, prior to the service, from one until two o'clock in the First Baptist Church parlor.
The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church, 219 Cleland Street, Georgetown, S. C. 29440 or any hospice organization.
