Obituary

Georgetown: Fleta Wilds Mixson, 94, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Prince George Healthcare Center in Georgetown. Mrs. Mixson was born in Glennville, Ga., on March 20, 1911, a daughter of the late Mellie Wilds and Vesta Wren Wilds. She graduated from high school in Glennville and attended Nursing School in Savannah. Mrs. Mixson lived in Georgetown for many years and was an avid bridge player. She was a buyer for Belk and a member of the Willowbank Garden Club. Mrs. Mixson was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church. She was predeceased by: her husband, James Lee Mixson, Sr.; and a sister, Marie Wilds Deason. Surviving are; a daughter, Kay Mixson Short and her husband Denny of Pawley's Island; a son, James L. Mixson, Jr., and his wife Mary of Statesville, N. C.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at three o'clock Thursday afternoon, March 24, 2005, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. James B. Carter, Jr. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Sign a guest book at www.mayerfuneralhome.com.
