Georgetown:
Sharon V. Fookes, 60, died Monday, June 15, 2020, at Roper Hospice Cottage in Mount Pleasant.
Mrs. Fookes was born in England on November 15, 1959, a daughter of the late Michael J. Fookes and Pauline Mary M.. Fookes. After living in England and Canada until the age of ten, her family moved to Georgetown where she graduated from Winyah High School in 1977. Sharon was very talented and had a great love for painting. She was kindhearted, went out of her way to help people, had a great sense of humor and loved children. Georgetown and North Litchfield Beach was very dear to her heart and enjoyed everyday living in her hometown. Her nieces, nephews and all the wonderful friends in Georgetown were so dear to her heart, and she will surely be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are: two brothers, Paul Fookes (Kelli) of Myrtle Beach and Andrew Fookes (Kim) of Signal Mountain, TN; a sister, Nicola Fookes-Goodson (Bill Jurgovan) of Myrtle Beach; and an number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be two o'clock Thursday, June 18, 2020, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to: Saint Frances Animal Shelter, 125 Ridge St, Georgetown, SC 29440 or to the Animal Shelter of one's choice.
