Mrs. Frances Claire Funderburk Marlow, widow of Boyd L. Marlow, Jr. (Tony), died Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at her home in Pawleys Island surrounded by family and friends.
Mrs. Marlow was born in Williamsburg County on October 7, 1945, the daughter of the late Mary Montgomery F. Brown Adams and the late Jack Funderburk. She graduated from Kingstree High School and attended the University of South Carolina. She was a member of Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Surviving are her two sons, Boyd L. Marlow, III (Kelly) and Benjamin M. Marlow (Molly); grandchildren, Amanda Marlow (Austin), Benjamin M. Marlow, Jr., and R. Wheeler Marlow, all of Pawleys Island; her siblings, Jane Brown Montgomery (Stan) of Ridgeway SC, Peden Brown (Debbie) of Lane, SC, Bob Brown (Diane) of Lexington, SC, and sister-in-law, Betsy Marlow of Murrells Inlet; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Marlow was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Lorie Marlow and brother-in-law Chris Marlow.
The family would like to thank all caregivers who have given their time to comfort Mrs. Marlow and support the family. Special appreciation is extended to the Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church Bread of Life and treasured caregiver, Rennater McBride with Tidelands Hospice.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church. A private interment ceremony will be held at a later date.
