Frances Rogers Mills, age 92, died Friday, July 16, 2021, in Greenville, South Carolina. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Wayne United Methodist Church in Georgetown, SC with internment to follow at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends following the interment at 190 Whiting Lane, Georgetown, SC.
Mrs. Mills was born in Thomas County Georgia to the late John Wesley and Mamie Renfroe Rogers. She was the youngest of six children, having three sisters and two brothers all of whom she loved very much and who predeceased her.
She married James Wyatt Mills on March 8, 1947, and shared her life with him for 61 years. Together they raised a family and traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad. Mrs. Mills was an avid reader, gardener, and storyteller. She loved history, travel, camping, and most importantly her family and friends.
She was a longtime member of Wayne United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her four children, Roger Wyatt Mills (Judy) of Mobile, Alabama, John Terrell Mills (Pam) of Georgetown, SC, James Louie Mills (Kay) and Amanda Mills Wilson (Rush) both of Greenville, SC. In addition, Mrs. Mills is survived by six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Betty Mills Herndon (Randall) of Macon, Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews.
