Andrews:
Frances Louise Thomson Mims, 77, died Saturday, December 11, 2004, at the residence of her daughter in St. Matthews.
Mrs. Mims was born in Williamsburg Co. near Andrews on July 24, 1927, a daughter of the late Bristow Cecil Thomson and Mellie Browder Thomson. She grew up in Andrews. Mrs. Mims was a former employee of International Paper Company and retired from the Holiday Inn in Orangeburg. She returned to Andrews to live in 1989 and moved to St. Matthews in 2003 shortly after the death of her husband, John Thomas Mims, Sr. Mrs. Mims was a member of Spring Gulley Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Society of the church.
Surviving are: four daughters, Sandra L. McGrew of St. Matthews, Celeste J. Stevens and Mary Nell M. Fleener, both of Orangeburg, and Jennifer M. Mann of Cordova; a son, John T. Mims, Jr. of Andrews; three brothers, John C. Thomson of Mt. Pleasant, Benjamin L. Thomson of Columbia, and W. Clayburn Thomson of Eastover; two sisters, Mary T. McCants and Nellie Faye T. Hanna, both Andrews; nineteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Mims was predeceased by: twin daughters, Johanna Lynn Mims and Janet Fay Mims and a brother.
Funeral services will be three o'clock Wednesday afternoon, December 15, 2004, at Spring Gulley Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Randy Zurcher. Burial will follow in the Churchyard.
