Georgetown: Francis "Frank" Griffin, 73, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at the Medical University of S. C. Hospital in Charleston. Mr. Griffin was born in New York City, N. Y. on July 24, 1938, a son of the late Joseph Griffin and Margaret Mary McGee Griffin. He grew up in Bay Shore, Long Island, N. Y. and was a graduate of Bay Shore High School and Ohio University. Mr. Griffin served in the U. S. Army. After his retirement from Sedgwick James, Inc. in Rochester, N. Y. he moved to Georgetown in 1988. Mr. Griffin worked for a time in real estate sales in Georgetown. Mr. Griffin was predeceased by: a brother, Joseph Griffin and a brother-in-law, Harry Anderson. Surviving are: his wife, Judith M. Bayer-Griffin of Georgetown; two brothers, Jack Griffin (Barbara) of Venice, Fla. and Jim Griffin (Judy) of Enfield, Conn.; a sister, Ellen Anderson of Longs; a sister-in-law, Brenda Griffin of Long Island, N. Y.; fifteen nephews and nieces; and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
