Pawleys Island: Frank Anthony Shortino, 88, died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Prince George Healthcare Center in Georgetown. Mr. Shortino was born in York, Pa. on July 28, 1920, a son of the late Anthony Shortino and Angela Curti Shortino. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Shortino moved to Pawleys Island in 1985 from Florence, where he was a former manager of Florence Country Club. He also managed country clubs in Kansas, Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. After moving to Pawleys Island, Mr. Shortino worked with Community Florist in Pawleys Island and Wedgefield Country Club in Georgetown. He attended Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church. Mr. Shortino was predeceased by: his wife, Margaret Maloney Shortino; and a son, Anthony "Tony" James Shortino. Surviving are: a brother-in-law, Harry Maloney of Pawley Island; two nieces; and a nephew. Private inurnment will be in Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church Columbarium.
