Obituary

Georgetown: Franklin Robert Bauer, 71, died Thursday, October 21, 2004, at his residence. Mr. Bauer was born in Newark, N. J. on February 18, 1933, a son of the late Francis Xavier Bauer and Sofie Elizabeth Kuhnle Bauer. He was a graduate of Lehigh University and served as a pilot in the Air Force. Mr. Bauer retired as vice-president of Sales and Marketing for Midway Truck and Coach in Elkhart, Ind. Mr. Bauer was a member of St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. He was a member of DeBordieu Club and served as chairman of DeBordieu's Architectural Review Board. He was also a member of DeBordieu Colony Community Assn. While living in South Bend, Ind., Mr. Bauer was a member of Morris Park Country Club, South Bend Country Club, and Signal Point Country Club. Surviving are: his wife, Catherine Zum Brunnen Bauer of Georgetown; two sons, Jefferey F. Bauer and his wife Laura of Charlotte, N. C. and Peter F. Bauer and his wife Heather of Atlanta; two daughters, Catherine E. Brown and her husband Thomas and Carolyn M. Robertson and her husband Andrew all of Mystic Conn.; two brothers, Carl Bauer and his wife Mary Lou of Caldwell, N. J. and Walter Bauer and his wife Rosemarie of Short Hills, N. J.; a sister, Helen Goff of Ridgefield, Conn.; grandchildren, Jennifer Bauer, Stephen Bauer, and Mark Bauer all of Charlotte, N. C., Catherine Anne Brown and Eric Robert Brown, and Andrew Stuart Robertson and Matthew Franklin Robertson, all of Mystic, Conn., and Peter Bauer, Jr., Frederick Zum Brunnen Bauer, and Robert Allen Bauer, all of Atlanta, Ga. The Funeral Mass will be three-thirty Sunday afternoon, August 24, 2004, at St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald J. Farrell.
