Andrews:
Freddie James Barrineau, 83, died Sunday, February 22, 2004, at Ralph H. Johnson Dept. of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Charleston.
Mr. Barrineau was born in Williamsburg Co. near Andrews on January 5, 1921, a son of the late John Earthur Barrineau and Rebecca Ellen Wright Barrineau he grew up in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School and attended Georgia Tech. Mr. Barrineau retired as a self-employed electrician and owner of Barrineau's Electric. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Andrews and a former teacher of the Boys Sunday School Class. Mr. Barrineau was also a member of the Gator Bay Hunt Club. He served his community as a former volunteer with the Andrews Fire Dept., Boy Scout troop leader, and Little League Baseball coach.
Surviving are: his wife of forty-three years, Pearle Floyd Barrineau of Andrews; a brother, Leland H. Barrineau of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Mrs. J. E. (Pat) Williams of Kingsport, Tenn. and Mrs. Joe V. (Maudine) Carter of Cleveland, Tenn.; fifteen nieces and nephews; and thirty-five great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Barrineau was predeceased by: three brothers, J. Arthur Barrineau, Ezra Barrineau, and Dewey Barrineau; and two sisters, Mrs. C. T. (Lizzie) Barrineau and Mrs. Benton L. (Gussie) Smith.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Wednesday morning, February 25, 2004, at First Baptist Church of Andrews. Officiating will be the Rev. Donald P. Sapp, the Rev. L. Michael Mills, and the Rev. Billy E. Rufus. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from six until eight Tuesday evening, February 24, 2004.
