Obituary

McClellanville: G. Farrell "Captain Farrell" White, 65, died Friday, March 18, 2005, at his residence. Capt. Farrell was born in Charleston on July 17, 1939, a son of the late James Calhoun White and Charlotte Sutler White. He grew up in Awendaw and began his career as a shrimper and commercial fisherman at a young age. Capt. Farrell was a member of New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church and the S. C. Shrimpers Assn. Survivors include: his wife, Denie Gillikin White of McClellanville: three sons, Cameron Farrell White of McClellanville, and Jefferson Scott White and Gary Farrell White, Jr., both of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Mary Frances White Furches of Mt. Pleasant and Joeanne White Leake of Summerville; two sisters, Louise Kimbrell of Sumter and Loretta Hatchell of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Robert White of Indianapolis, Ind.; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be four o'clock Monday afternoon, March 20, 2005, at the "Government Dock" in McClellanville. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Walter G. Cook. Burial will follow in New Wappetaw Presbyterian Cemetery. Sign a guest book at www.mayerfuneralhome.com. Friends may call at the family residence.
