Georgetown: Gene McCoy Prosser, 73, died Friday, December 14, 2012 at Tidelands Community Hospice House. Mr. Prosser was born in Florence on May 26, 1939, a son of the late Allard McCoy Prosser and Amanda Magnolia Powell Prosser. He was educated in Georgetown County Public Schools and was a member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he was active in Fishers of Men Sunday School and Men's Fellowship. Mr. Prosser's favorite hobby was chair caning. Surviving are: a sister, Janice Hodge of Awendaw; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at two o'clock on Sunday afternoon, December 16, 2012, at Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Lonnie Brazell, the Rev. Clide Glover, and the Rev. David Prosser. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Annex. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service at the church from one until two o'clock.
