Georgetown:
George Henry Amann, 88, died Monday, October 3, 2011, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Amann was born at Staten Island, N. Y. on December 17, 1922, a son of the late George Amann and Sarah Hearst Amann. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Amann was a retired employee of Oneita Knitting Mills in Andrews.
Mr. Amann was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. He was active in the work of the church and also at St. Cyprian's Catholic Church. Mr. Amann was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Amann was predeceased by: his wife, Zion Joseph Amann; and a son, George Paul Amann.
Surviving are: three sons, Joseph Amann (Sandy), Paul Amann, and Albert Anthony Amann (Andrea), all of Georgetown; five daughters, Barbara Dumm (Jim), Helen Chiha, and Sarah Nahra Chiha (Edward), all of Georgetown, Mary Jo Karre (Paul) of Germantown, Tenn., and Anne Amann of Seneca; a nephew, Dennis O'Brien (Diane) of Staten Island, N. Y.; twenty-nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be eleven o'clock Thursday morning, October 6, 2011, at St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald J. Farrell. Inurnment will be private.

A Wake Service will be six-thirty o'clock Wednesday evening, October 5, 2011, followed by visitation until eight-thirty at St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church.
