Andrews: George Wilbur Harrelson, 72, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence. Mr. Harrelson was born in Georgetown County on October 24, 1936, a son of the late W. Ed. Harrelson and Lottie Pope Harrelson. He was the former owner and operator of T & L Tire Service in Andrews and retired from Morgan Corp. as an Assistant Site Superintendent. Mr. Harrelson was a member of New Hope Fellowship. He was a former Andrews Auxiliary Policeman. Surviving are: his wife, Myrtie R. Martin Harrelson of Andrews; three sons, Carl R. Smith of Marietta, and Kenny Smith and James Martin, both of Andrews; his birth mother, Charlotte Pauline Whitaker of Dillon; a brother, Ralph Harrelson of Dillon; a sister, Maggie Watson of Dillon; four grandchildren, Kipp A. Smith, Heather Tomlinson, Kelly Martin, and Kayleigh M. Smith; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be three o'clock Friday afternoon, July 24, 2009, at the Family Worship Center. Officiating will be the Rev. J. W. Casselman and the Rev. Murray W. Powell. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery. Sign a guest book at www.mayerfuneralhome.com.
