Obituary

Georgetown: George Richard O'Hara, 67, died Thursday, December 1, 2005, at his residence. Mr. O'Hara was born in Atlanta, Ga. on June 8, 1938, a son of the late Ralph Richard O'Hara and Esther Juanita Richardson O'Hara. He was a graduate of Winyah High School and North Carolina State University and was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity while attending college. Mr. O'Hara served in the U. S. Army. He was employed by International Paper Company prior to starting his own chemical supply company, which he operated for a number of years. Mr. O'Hara was also a real estate agent and an employee of U. S. Security Associates, Inc. He attended Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church. Mr. O'Hara was a member of the Cotillion Club of Georgetown and the Ribbon Club of Georgetown. Surviving are: his wife, Elizabeth Falconer Hazzard O'Hara of Georgetown; two sons, G. Richard O'Hara, Jr. of Alamogorda, N. Mex. and R. Joseph O'Hara of Georgetown; a daughter, Elizabeth G. O'Hara of Georgetown; two brothers, Douglas Richardson O'Hara of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Joseph Leslie O'Hara of Pawley's Island. Memorial services will be three-thirty o'clock Saturday afternoon, December 3, 2005, at the graveside in Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Churchyard. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul C. Fuener.
