Andrews:
George Charles Pipkin, Sr. 92, died June 29, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Pipkin was born in Georgetown on July 20, 1927, a son of the late Lowell Pipkin and Lowe Terry Pipkin.
Mr. Pipkin grew up in Andrews and was a member of Andrew First Pentecostal Holiness Church and attended faithfully until his illness. He worked for Springs Cotton Mills until returning home and was employed by International Paper Company for over thirty years. Mr. Pipkin was owner and operator of Andrews Salvage and Auto Center for many years. He was a veteran and served in the Army Air Force in the 1940's. Mr. Pipkin had a big heart and a great love for all animals. He was a good provider for his family and they loved him dearly and will miss him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pipkin is predeceased by, a son George Pipkin, Jr., and two brothers, W.L. Pipkin and Jimmy Pipkin; two sisters, Ruth Knight and Mary Ella Pipkins.
Surviving are: his wife, Lila Smith Pipkins of Andrews; one daughter, Debbie Elliott of Andrews: four sons, David Patrick Pipkin of Andrews, Lowell Anthony Pipkin (Sandra) of Mt. Pleasant, Richard Shawn Pipkin (Hazel Faith) of Andrews, and Christopher Hubert Pipkin of NC; two sisters, Margie Frances Locklear and Lila Mae Tanner both of Sumter; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be one o'clock Wednesday, July 1, 2020, in Andrews Memorial Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Jim Tanner.
